Some aged and fermented foods contain high levels of Tyramine.  These foods have been known to raise blood pressure and trigger migraines.  Tyramine sulfate excretion shows a good correlation with depression.  It is my hypothesis that low sulfate levels may be linked to depression and that high Tryamine foods may exacerbate this condition because Tyramine is sulfated by the liver before excretion in the urine.
